The city shuts off automobile traffic between Los Osos Street and Nipomo Street. The street is filled with so many different vendors who sell fresh produce, delicious food, and small trinkets. The market features some of the best high-end street food and the freshest produce. The restaurants who are located downtown offer some of their specialties. F. McLintocks has a stand outside their restaurant and offer their famous grilled artichokes. There is live music set up on every corner for you to enjoy as you walk around. Except when it rains, the Farmers market takes place every single week between 6pm and 9 pm.

They now offer hayrides, a small petting zoo, and u-pick where you can pick your own fresh seasonal produce. The most popular time of the year for visiting the Avila Valley Barn is in October. During October you can pick your own pumpkin to take home with you. You can also take some memorable pictures with a giant pile of pumpkins as your backdrop. On Fridays and Saturdays, they offer serval classes where you can make your own jam or salsa.

Camping at the Oceano Dunes 


The Oceano dunes is the only beach that allows drive-on off-highway vehicles. The Oceano dunes is the perfect place to bring your ATV. The Oceano dunes spans about 1,200 acres of beach and sand dunes. The rolling sand dunes come up as high as 100 feet. The ATV Safety Certificate course in the area makes up for the limitation on the number of vehicles allowed onto the beach. Some other outdoor activities at the Dunes are camping, horseback riding, hiking, and birdwatching.
