How sweet it is…top bakery selections

Brown Butter Cookie Company (Cayucos, Paso Robles)

Since 2009, the Brown Butter Cookie Company has been serving up delectable treats. When putting this sweet and salty cookie in my mouth, it made my taste buds do the tango! These cookies are made with real sea salt and the one I had…okay the first of many, had a light crunch and then melted in my mouth.

I can’t wait to go back to the Brown Butter Sea Salt Cookie. I’ll bring more home with me next time.

Lilac Patisserie (Santa Barbara)

Lilac Patisserie is described as “a dedicated gluten-free bakery and café.” It’s obvious that they take special pride in their cakes and baked goods. The people who work there are friendly and seem proud to show off the delicious desserts that all looked like edible art.

The Bananas Foster Cake was delicately sweet, brushed with rum and filled with caramel, whipped cream, and bananas. My son loved it!

The French Corner Bakery (Cambria)

Oh my…wonderful Macaroons. The French Corner Bakery has delicious loaves of bread, cakes, and pastries. I started my day there at 6:30 for a sweet jump start.

This bakery is my go-to spot whenever I am in Cambria. My favorite is a gooey cinnamon roll and cappuccino. I think that it is one the best little bakeries on the California Coast.
